Robert SUTHERLAND Obituary

Passed away at Christchurch Hospital on Friday, October 10, 2025, aged 74 years. Much loved husband of Maxine, dearly loved Dad and father-in-law of Andrew and Bridie, Alicia and Nick, and Kerri and Ray, Granddad Bob of Charlie and Lucas, Mikayla and Ella, and James and Kayla, and Great-Granddad Bob of Hazelle, and Jameson, much loved brother and brother-in-law of Leigh and Merv, and Ian and Bev, and a loved uncle and friend to many. Messages may be addressed to: The family of the late Bob Sutherland, c/- PO Box 39001, Christchurch 8545. A celebration of Bob's life will be held at North New Brighton Community Centre, 93 Marine Parade, North New Brighton, on Thursday, October 16, at 1.30pm. Please bring a photo of Bob (and a story) to share for his memory book.

Very sad to hear this news.
Bob will be greatly missed and fondly remembered for his friendly face and welcoming nature.
I knew Bob through the security industry and visited him regularly to talk about security matters as well as world events. He was always warm and approachable, and I´ll always remember him saying, "You are the first to have that problem," whenever I returned faulty products.
Bob will be truly missed.

Thank you for being my Uncle. Christmas was never dull whether you behind the camera or a water pistol you made me smile and laugh. I appreciate the belief you had in me when I couldnt find it or even not know it was there,. Thanks for being there for a chat and recently an ear to listen. I hope but know Granny was there with a hug for you and that you say hi to Grandad(s) from me. I still have a wee tear but smile for the memories we made, the words you shared but mostly the love you gave. Bless you UB xx
