Dad passed away peacefully surrounded by family after an unexpected short illness. Cherished husband of the late Sylvia. Much loved dad and father-in-law of Karen and Lloyd Matthews, Rob and Tania Reid (deceased), and Sarah. Loved pop of Emily Matthews and Lachie Reid. Thanks to the caring staff on the MPC ward at Christchurch Hospital and Windsor Care Rest Home. Dad has been through a lot over the last couple of years and always pulled through, but not this time unfortunately.
"Rest easy old boy, your heart is now back in Scotland. We will always love you and have peace knowing you're with mum."
Messages for the Reid family may be sent to 58 Coleridge Street, Sydenham, Christchurch 8023. In keeping with Bert's wishes a Private Cremation has been held.
