My sympathy to you Evelyn and all the family. Bob was such a happy, fun guy who knew so many and just loved everyone and who had so many adventures. I have good memories of you both at Servas get togethers over 25 years. Regards from Benita Dale McMillen

Bob was an incredible friend and support to my mother after being assigned to her case back in the 70s when her mother was killed.
He kept in touch over the years and I know my mum really loved catching up with him. It takes a very special person who truly loves people and their work to form lifelong connections like this, and I know our family won´t forget Bob and his kindness.
I personally loved hearing his many stories from policing over the years, and valued the time he spent with me sharing his memories of my grandmothers case.
Sending love to Evelyn and family on behalf of Jann Clutterbuck and family.

Bobs wife Win and my Mum June Unwin were best friends. They met in Akaroa where Win became engaged to Bob. Bob, Win, June and her husband Des remained friends over the years and Bob was at my fathers funeral in 2017. My Mum is now in a home and has just heard of Bob's passing. She sends her deepest condolences

I was very sorry to belatedly hear of Bob's passing. Bob was a great role model to a young trainee back in the day, an extremely experienced, competent supervisor, teacher and mentor throughout my formative 'learn-your-craft' period, and a very genial workmate and friend. My sincere condolences to Bob's family and friends who will have been left with many memories of Bob's dry wit and very grounded wisdom. Rest in Peace Bob.

So sad to hear of the loss of dear Rob. My late husband and I met Rob & Eve when we travelled from Florida years ago. They spent time in our home as well. Please give Eve my best thoughts from Peggy.

Highly respected by his colleagues within the police and valued for his wise counsel. Much appreciated by retired police for his work in keeping us all informed of important police associated events and maintaining personal contact via the "Asterisk" group.
You will be missed.

I was one of many young detectives who started their careers under the watchful eye of, and tutoring by this wonderful mentor. Bob was such a kind yet serious and committed boss. He has kept a lot of ex Police together with his emails and organising great luncheons and get-togethers. Honoured to have worked for this legend. RIP Bob

It was only last Friday I took Mum for a drive around Domett, past your family home Bob. Mum (Dot Davies, nee Wilkinson) reminiscing about the family. You and Lionel were great mates Bob. Not only the lasting Cheviot connection, but I had the immense privilege of knowing you as a very experienced, highly regarded and respected Detective in the NZPolice. Just that day I said to Mum "I must go and see him". Very sadly, too late. Our love and deep respect.

Gosh it was only last week Mum and I were driving around past your family home in Domett/Nonoti road Bob. Chatting about your family. You were very good mates with Lionel Wilkinson (Mums brother). Although the Cheviot connection, I also had the immense privilege of knowing you in The NZPolice. What a highly respected Officer you were too. Sad news indeed Bob. I'd only just said to Mum that day....last friday "I must go and see him". With the greatest respect and Love. Davies, Wilkinson clan.
