Robert Neil LAMBIE

Robert LAMBIE Obituary

On Wednesday, July 13, 2023, at Christchurch Hospital, peacefully with family, aged 85 years. Loved husband of the late Janet; loved father of Sarah Jane, Andrew, Mary, and David; father-in-law of Angela, James, and Dee; proud grandfather of Celia, and Alexander; Julia, Alice, and Claire; Rebecca Grace, Elizabeth, and Jack; William, Georgia, Tom, and Lucy; proud grandfather-in-law of Nathan Cooper. Brother and brother-in-law of Helen and Warwick Reid; brother-in-law of Rachel and Grant Robinson; Ann and Jim Hudson; the late Margaret Campbell; and Liz and Callum MacLeod. The family thank all those who have provided care for Neil. Messages may be addressed to The Family of the late Neil Lambie, c/- PO Box 39001, Christchurch 8545. In lieu of flowers, donations to Rotary International would be appreciated and may be made directly at: www.rotary.org/en/donate. A Celebration of Neil's life will be held in St Andrew's College Centennial Chapel, 347 Papanui Road, Strowan, on Wednesday, July 19, at 1.00pm.

Neil & Janet were our lovely neighbours at Fortification Road for more than 20 years. Neil was a friendly and compassionate gentleman. He took great pride in his family and home and we enjoyed his insights and hospitality.

Neil was a great friend to my brother Derek ,also Sam , now deceased. At St ANDREWS COLLEGE ,Fides et Patria, they played leading roles in Pirates of Penzance ,reported with acclaim , but failed to be recognised for their contribution to our national reputation in theatre .RIP.
