My sympathy to Lynn, Lindsay and famly at the sad loss of Bob. In a small town like Westport we were fortunate to have some wonderful friendships that have left lasting memories - mine of Bob bring to mind a strong, confident, and amiable leader who had a central place in just about most things. Several of us in the photo that Ian Gemmill has so aptly posted as we have great memories of being at his side in sports teams, High School Cadet Corp, Air Training Corp, Scouts, and of our time at uni. We followed his career in business with admiration and really enjoyed reviving previous times at the Buller High jubilees. Our love and Best wishes to Bob's family

I will miss Bob, as he worked so hard with me running the Rolleston Mens Shed. As the Chairman at the time I could not have done my job there without Bob. I'm sorry to hear of his passing and wish Bob's family the best.

Sorry to hear that a classmate from Westport South and Westport Technical College has passed away. We started at Canterbury University in the same year too. He had tremendous stamina, left me behind in most sports and was a close friend during our school years. I had a pic of the two of us together at a primary school fancy dress ball, but mislaid it; but I do have a photo of the prefects of 1962, our 7th form year. Warren Head and I, both in the back row, are still making nuisances of ourselves. My condolences and love go out to all the bereaved, especially those gathered in Masterton, where I once married (Lansdowne) in 1971.
Ian Gemmill, Wellington.
