Dear Jill and Family,
very sorry to hear the news of Bob, I have treasured memories of travelling on dance trips with him, listening to his business stories shared in such a humble manner and sharing his passion for motor vehicles. I am fortunate to have met and shared time with Bob.

Uncle Bob was a very gentle man. We used to go to Grandmas house and uncle Bob had his motorbike in bits in the shed. We were'nt allowed in there but he would tell us about his bike and the races. He was fearless. He became a developer and developed Kaiapoi and other places too. I saw what he was doing as i grew up. We never saw much of him growing up which was sad as he was a wonderful man and i liked spending time with him. When i was in the Army and working out of Addington, i contacted him and he offered for me to use his house and pool any time i wanted, even if he wasn't home. He was very kind. He made sure Grandma got a unit to live in through his developments. He looked after her very well. I thought of him often over the years and knew he loved ball room dancing. I also did a bit of that but not to the same degree he did. And that is where he met his lovely partner, Jill. I have never met you Jill, but i have heard of you and I am sad for you. Uncle Bob was a lucky man but i know he would have been a wonderful partner to. I am so glad he found love because he worked so much. My condolances to you Jill and family. And to my mum and Uncle Graham. I wish I could have been there but i am in Western Australia.. Love you Uncle Bob. Your loving neice Pauline (Sam) Vallance
