Frank Mipro Obituary

Frank Anthony Mipro, beloved son and brother, passed away on Tuesday, September 23, 2025, at the age of 57 due to complications from myotonic muscular dystrophy. Frank was born in New Orleans on September 14, 1968, to Max and Dorothy Mipro. He was the 11th child in a family of twelve children and a lifelong resident of New Orleans. He attended Our Lady of the Rosary elementary school where he was also a parishioner. Frank was a graduate of Brother Martin High School, a Crusader from the class of '87. Before he became disabled, Frank worked as an auto mechanic at his brother's automotive shop.

Frank had a very kind disposition and was loved by all who knew him. Though he lived with muscular dystrophy for much of his life, he never let it define him. He faced every challenge with quiet strength, never complaining, always taking it in stride. A kind and gentle soul, Frank was deeply devoted to his family and brought warmth and humor to every gathering. He had a deep love for sports and was a passionate fan of NASCAR and professional football. While he rooted for his hometown New Orleans Saints, his heart belonged to the Dallas Cowboys - a team he followed faithfully since he was a little boy. In his younger years, he cherished fishing trips with his dad and brothers and was often seen cruising along the lakefront in his prized Mustang convertible - a symbol of his independence and joy for life. Above all, Frank valued time spent with family. Whether watching a game, sharing a laugh, or simply being together, he found joy in connection and love in every moment.

He is preceded in death by his father Max Anthony Mipro, Sr., his sisters Dorothy Mipro Davis and Frances Mipro, and his brother Max Anthony Mipro, Jr. He is survived by his mother Dorothy Moore Mipro, his brothers Conrad Mipro (Eva), Paul Mipro, Matthew Mipro, and Ernest Mipro (Nancy), his sisters Bridget Mipro, Susan Mipro, Nancy Mipro Shelby (Bobby), and Marianne Mipro, and many nieces and nephews.

He was the grandson of the late Max and Ethel Monvoisin Mipro and the late Edward and Elvera Poncet Moore.

Services will be held on Saturday, October 4, 2025, at Jacob Schoen and Son Funeral Home, 3827 Canal Street, New Orleans, LA. Visitation for friends and family will begin at 9:00 a.m. followed by a mass of Christian burial at 10:00 a.m. Interment will be at St. Louis Cemetery No. 3.
