Robert BROWN Obituary

It is with great sadness that Bob has passed away peacefully at home, with family by his side on November 1, 2023, aged 86 years. Dearly loved husband of Kathy for 65 years, much loved Dad of Marie, Alex, Bobby, Katrina, Ian, and Andrew, and Poppa to his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Messages may be addressed to The Family of the late Bob Brown, c/- PO Box 39001, Christchurch 8545. A Celebration of Bob's life will be held in our Westpark Chapel, 467 Wairakei Road, Burnside, on Wednesday, November 8, at 2.00pm.

I was extremely saddened to hear of Bob's passing. I only heard today (16th January) so missed his funeral. My sincere condolances to Kathy and family all of whom I have many fond memories. I'm just so sorry to have missed the funeral, there would have been a lot of laughs as well as the sadness. I worked for him for 7 years and can report he was a real character, sometimes larger than life. Always the salesman and I often heard him say "without a hint of distortion" even when the poor bloody speakers were hemorrhaging!! - but he had the biggest of hearts. Go well Bob! Sorry to hear of Bob passing away. To his family and friends my condolences. I remember the days when I would visit his store in New Brighton. Those were the good ole days when you could talk to someone who knew what he was selling. I remember his passion for high quality audio equipment.
