We are so sorry to hear of the passing of Rita Wilkinson.A most gracious and lovely lady.
I had the honour of playing bowls with one of New Zealands greatest lawn bowlers Wallie Wilkinson.A N.Z Representative.Along with my father Clarrie Bateman we thoroughly enjoyed the time we had with Wallie and of course Rita.
Also I had the pleasure of serving Rita in my capacity as a Travel Consultant with Air NZ.We met her many times at various Funeral Parlors where she was serving refreshments.
What a great age!Wallie would be proud. No doubt they are both together now.
Please accept our sincere condolences.

In remembrance of beautiful Rita Wilkinson whom I will always carry the most loving memories of. The warmth that you generously gave to Wally Wilkinson's pupils will always be remembered with gratitude. When the Indian mens' hockey team came to Christchurch in the 1950s you had the Weedons' school hockey team to lunch at your cosy Christchurch home prior to a Weedons' School Headmaster's home being built. This and so many wonderful acts of kindness are unforgettable. My love to you Jennifer. You were the 'apple' of your father's eye. Rita's pride and joy. A small child with a head of brown curly locks with an unending smile on your cherubic face. In my 78th year the memories of your wonderful father and mother have never left me. They came to my debutant ball in 1960, my wedding in 1970. The three of you are part of Weedons' history and fabric. Enduring gratitude and love, Lorraine Clemens, nee Manion. XOX

What a charming real lady. The wife of an amazing School Headmaster at Weedons. I was in the same class as you Jennifer. Your Mother planned a special Birthday night we all enjoyed.
