The world will be a poorer place without Richard. I will always remember his un-conventional sense of humour ,his empathy , and support, and he was such a great boss to work under at Crown. Richard did not revert to the usual "the customer is always right", and many a time he would defend his staff when the customer was obviously wrong. . He was like that with his staff, so loyal! So deeply sorry Sally & Anna on your enormous loss. So sad I could not be there to say goodbye as was away overseas.
Love, Linda Cole (ex Crown)

Heartbreaking to hear of the passing of Richard and my deepest condolences go out to Sally and Anna at what is a tough time xx He will surely be missed by all that crossed his path. Working with Richard was the most enjoyable time of my career with Crown he was a great boss that I will never forget, he made me laugh, made me feel appreciated and most of all he became a great and loyal friend. From his very first day in London office a great friendship was bonded. Will never forget you Woody, you were one of a kind! Now party with the Angels xxx

I worked with Richard when he managed our branch in Barking and then in South Ruislip, such a great manager and friend to many, god bless you and thinking of Sally and Anna at this sad time.

I was so sorry to hear if the passing if a great boss, mentor and colleague from our old but good days at Crown. More sad that I cannot be in Auckland today to share in a celebration of Richards life.
Richards mentorship and belief in me made my transition from just another employee transitioning from at home Mum to career woman a goal to strive for. I am happy to say his pushing worked.
Richard was so very kind to me when my mother passed unexpectedly at 69. I appreciated all of the times he pushed me to do better and lead our team with his enthusiasm. He always knew when it was time to shout the office to a fish and chip lunch. His laugh was infectious and his daft nonsense a way to cheer up the office. Thank you Richard and Godspeed to your place in Heaven.
Hugs to Sally and Anna at this very sad time for the Woodys.
