Richard Gregory (Greg):
Peacefully and unexpectedly on January 8, 2022. Loved husband of Jan, loved father of Michael, Stephanie and Rhea, father-in-law of Katie and Tim, and grandfather of Alma, Zara and Ida. Messages to the Smithson Family, C/- PO Box 199, Rangiora. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Oxford Land Search and Rescue Inc. (LANDSAR) would be appreciated and may be made online at bit.ly/rgsmithson0801 A Funeral Service for Greg will be held at the Harewood Crematorium Chapel, Wilkinsons Road (off Gardiners Road), Christchurch, on Monday, January 17, at 1.30pm. Vaccine Passes are required to attend the service.

We benefited from several decades of Greg's excellent help as an accountant, but far more than that he was a friend. We had the Smithsons round for parties, and enjoyed their company at many orienteering and rogaining events. We offer our deepest sympathies to the whole family.
Cure Boating club Inc

Our heartfelt sympathies go out to Greg's family and friends. Greg was a well known identity in rowing circles having started rowing during his high school years in Dunedin followed by rowing for Avon RC in Christchurch and then Cure Boating Club in Kaiapoi when he moved to Rangiora in the mid 1980s. For over 35 years Greg has been a great Club member having competed, coached, administered and anything else that was required to help run the Club. As a result he was made a life member of the Club last September. He is and will be sadly missed. Rest/Row in peace Greg
