Richard RUSSELL Obituary

Passed away as a result of illness on October 10, 2025, surrounded by his loving family and friends at Ellesmere Hospital, aged 45 years. Loved husband of Michaela, and devoted father to Aria, Lochlan, and Xavier. Cherished son of Robert and Margaret, treasured brother of Julie and Mark. Much loved son-in-law of Marjo and Paul. The family sincerely thank all who have offered love and support, and the staff who cared for Richie with such kindness. Rest in peace Richie, you will be sadly missed. A celebration of Richie's life will be held at Westpark, 467 Wairakei Road, Burnside, on Thursday, October 16, at 2.00pm. Hey, One of his kids here, ll miss my dad very much, i miss going on forrest walks with him, happy he let me climb on all those giant stumps my mum didnt, i wish i spent more time with him, i wish i hugged him more, i wish i did so much more stuff, i regret not doing more stuff with him, ill miss you dad - one of richies kids <3

I knew Richard from out time working together at Blackbay, he was a trainee software tester at the time. However as a quick learner, he really did not need much help. At that time he becaome owner of his German Shepard, we Mondays also had the fun of Richard telling us who was taking who for a walk. It's these small things you remember of your past friends and collegues.
