Only Dawn and the late Ron's family will know me. I was a family friend. Richard and I used to go fishing. It was a real adventure one day when the little tin boat had its engine keep cutting out up the coast from Whangamata on a bad weather day. An experience to remember for sure. Rest in peace Richard. Sorry it has taken this ling to list my message. Condolences to all the family.

To Dicks Loved Ones,

I'm sorry this message has taken so long to get done. I didn't quite know what to say.

Dick and I had a lot of really good talks over the last few years and I got to see who he really was, instead of just a work colleague. He will be missed.

Dick, you are a good man and will be sadly missed. I enjoyed our laughs over the years, the many discussions about fishing and duck shooting at my work. The way you looked after our mate Andrew when he came to work for you. The way you loved your wife and dogs. All of these things I will remember. Although I don't get to the Rangitata much these days, the first fish I catch I will release for you.
Tight lines buddy.
