I have only learnt of Richards passing and it has touched me deeply. I have such vivid memories of Richard opening Joe Bolido`s and his cool bar became a coffee account of mine so I spent much time up there socially and was always impressed at how gentle, and incredibly creatively talented he is. I say is because I am sure he is somewhere around smiling on over his beautiful daughters and family and friends. I can only offer much love and some sort of connection in my knowing this lovey human being with those who were dearest and closest to him

I was so saddened to only just learn of your passing Richard. What joyful banter you graced us with in the hospitality community. I will miss seeing your cheeky grin around the neighborhood. My heartfelt warmth and love to Lisa and your beautiful whanau. Moe mai i roto i te rangimarie xx

I enjoyed your company in the eighties and nineties in sport and conversation. You were always welcoming and competitive and always brought a difference in point of view or diversity. I moved from NZ in 1994 and sadly have lost touch with a lot of people really just see the odd digital snippet. I wish your family condolences and blessings as you always put in a 100%. I wish I could have caught up one more time all the best john o.

Richard, the roads of Christchurch and beyond will always be paved with your soul, and when your cycling family are on those roads every now and then they will feel you at their side.
Where ever you maybe RIP

Will miss you my friend, your quiet strength on that bike, and will miss trying to hold onto that wheel. Keep those pedals turning my friend.
With all my love to Chris & Nienke and the family.
My thoughts and prayers with you always
