On November 7, 2022 passed away peacefully in Christchurch, aged 59. Dearly loved son of Kenneth Ireland and the late Marie Biel. Soulmate and husband of Lisa (nee Ritchie, Handley), beloved father and father-in-law of Aaron, Courtney and Ollie, Maddi and Duncan, Kirsty and Travis, and the late Terry-Anne. Cherished Grandfather of Skylar-Rose, Ashton, Lukas and Isla. Loved son-in-law of Margaret Ritchie. Very much loved brother and brother-in-law of Michael, Sue and Jeff Barnett, Shelley, Tina, and Julie-Anne. Cherished uncle of Natasha and Pete, Phil and Kylie, Lee, Jamie, Teone, Hayleigh, BoDean, Jayde and the late Nathan. A beloved great-uncle to many. A private funeral for Richard will be held at Hope Funerals, Hornby, Christchurch. In lieu of flowers, donations to NZ Bowel Cancer Society.
