Dr Richard John:
On January 6, 2022, peacefully passed away at Mayfair Lifecare. Dearly loved husband of the late Joan, beloved father and father-in-law of David and Jane, Philip and Christine, and Andrew and Pamela, dearly loved Grandad of Joshua, Samuel and Rachel; and Mark, great-grandfather of Eloise, and Isaac. Treasured brother of Garth. Dear companion and partner of Isobel. Messages may be addressed to The Family of the late Richard Haythornthwaite, c/- PO Box 39001, Christchurch 8545. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Weka Pass Railway Society would be appreciated, and may be made at the service. A Celebration of Richard's life will be held in our Westpark Chapel, 467 Wairakei Road, Burnside, on Monday, January 17, at 2.00pm, private cremation thereafter. At the family's request, Vaccine Passes will be required.

Membership of the Weka Pass Railway is greatly saddened by the passing of Dr Haythornthwaite. He was a much loved and highly valued Life member of the railway, he will be greatly missed in the many ways he participated. We send our deepest sympathy.
