To Janice and Family, please accept my heartfelt condolences at the passing of Rex. He was a wonderful friend and confidant and the person responsible for getting me into woodturning. A much loved friend now at peace. Ray and Yvonne Morgan.

Rex was a founding member of the ChCh Woodturners Association and contributed greatly to the operation of the club through his roles on the committee, as a tutor for the Aoraki / NAW courses and as a demonstrator. A go to person for advice, his service to the club was recognised with the awarding of a life membership in February 2020.
We both shared a common bond with sons in the same part of Canada. Rex would tell me of his latest woodturning kit acquisitions and what shops to visit.
A weekend away with Rex in Oamaru where we shared accommodation and a vehicle was especially memorable for the long discussions that we had across a whole range of topics.
Rest in peace Rex, I will miss you.
