Rebecca THOMPSON Obituary

Bec's family are heartbroken to let you know that she passed away on Saturday, in Christchurch, at the age of 51. Bec was the soulmate of Glenn and adored mum of James, Samuel and Matthew. She was a loved daughter of Graeme and Dorothy Steel (both deceased), and daughter-in-law of Kath and Don Thompson (deceased). A special sister to the tight five Deb, Robyn, Stephanie and Fiona and loved sister-in-law of Genny and Ken, Scott and Olivia, Maree and Pete, Euan, Ken, Hamish and friend to Grandma Liz. A much loved and fun Aunty Bec and friend to George and Gee, Phoebe and Henry, Liam and Declan, Angus, Madi, Bella and Hunter, Dorothy, Charles and Montgomery, Charlotte and Adam, Olivia, Molly and Charlie, and Sophie. Messages may be addressed to The Thompson Family, c/- PO Box 10345, Christchurch 8145. A celebration of Bec's life will be held at Rossendale Weddings and Events, 100 Old Tai Tapu Road, Kennedys Bush, Christchurch on Saturday, August 17, at 1.30pm.

Dear Glenn, James, Samuel and Matthew. We have never met. I am a Canadian who lives in Reggio Emilia Italy and in 2019 had the good fortune to meet and live with Debbie Steel.

Debbie referred to her family, and extended family often. and the the death of your Bec has changed all of your lives forever. Your pain and grieving cannot be explained to anyone - it belongs to you four.To lose someone you know is sad; to lose a wife and mother is devastating. And made worse by Bec being only 51 years young. Your heart is broken and your chest is crushed.

The hope that my husband Tony and I have for you four is to stay close, talk, laugh and cry about Bec, remembering all the years of memories with her.

We send buckets of heartfelt and loving thoughts to you.
