In Loving Memory
August 27, 1941 - December 1, 2025
CAMDEN, NY - Our beloved mother and grandmother, Jean M. (Kalk) Atkins, passed away on Monday, December 1, 2025, at the age of 84.
Jean graduated from Camden Central Schools in 1959 and would go on to retire from NYS DDSO.
She enjoyed traveling, crocheting, knitting and spending time with her family.
Jean is survived by her three children, who made up the entirety of her world, Jack (Noreen) Atkins, Jill (Randy) Prosser and Janet (Todd) Scoville; six grandchildren, Erica Roberts, Ashley Prosser, Kyle Prosser, Julia Atkins, Dalton Scoville and Logan Scoville and several great-grandchildren.
She also leaves behind four sisters, Joan Myers (Rick Swancott), Mary Helmle, Kathy (David) Bielby and Carol (William) Abramczyk; along with several nieces and nephews.
Jean will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. Jean's life was a beautiful tapestry, woven with love, resilience and laughter.
Funeral Service Information will be as follows: Per Jean's request, there will be a Service in her memory at 11 a.m. on Saturday, December 13, 2025, from St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church, 502 W. Chestnut Street in Rome, NY. Spring Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Lee, NY. A celebration of Jean's life will be held immediately following the service from 1 - 3 p.m. at Grape N Grog, 85 Taberg St., Camden, NY.
Arrangements are in care of LaRobardiere Funeral Home, 109 Main Street, Camden, NY.
