Raymond MARTIN Obituary

20.12.1944 - 17.10.2025

It is with great sorrow we announce the passing of our dearest Ray, who passed peacefully at home on Friday, October 17, 2025, surrounded by his family. Ray was a dearly loved husband and best friend of Joan. Adored Dad, father-in-law and mentor of Suzanne and Fraser, Karen and Darren. Dearly loved Grandy of Samara, Michael, Emma and Andrea. Loved Great-Grandy of Scarlett, Zoey, Cooper and Ayla. Loved brother of Trish and John, Brad (dec), Ken and Maureen (both dec), and Laurance (dec). Loved brother-in-law of Yvonne (dec) and Dave, Ann and Tony (both dec), Claire and Peter, Lois and Pat. We would like to offer thanks to the Kaikoura Hospital Staff for their care and support over the last few years, and special thanks to Dr Chris Henry. In lieu of flowers, donations to Cure Parkinson NZ would be appreciated. A celebration of Ray's life will be held at the Kaikoura Trotting Club, South Bay, on Thursday, October 23, 2025, at 1.30pm, followed by burial at the Kaikoura Public Cemetery. Due to Ray's love of denim, jeans will be the dress code. Whilst he no longer walks among us his love and memory will always remain in our hearts.
