Deepest sympathy to Tane's family. I played against him in 1967 when he was in Temuka and he was a great guy. Our paths crossed many times later and he always found time for a chat. He was a loyal and fine man.

I played rugby union with Tane in Temuka and his leadership, kindness and friendship inspired me greatly. A true gentleman.

So sad to hear of Tane's passing. I played alongside Tane in the All Blacks. He was an extremely accomplished rugby player,
an excellent on and off field personality and wonderful contributor to rugby overall. He will be remembered fondly by many people.
