Raelene BUCHANAN Obituary

Passed away peacefully in Greymouth, surrounded by her loving family, on March 19, 2026, aged 79. Dearly loved wife, soulmate and best friend of the late Warren, and Adellino (Spud) Pizzato, loved and cherished mother and mother-in-law of Graeme, Tina and Bill, Steven and Diane, and Larna and Jase, loved and respected stepmother and mother-in-law of Deryk and Ange, Craig, and the late Jason, treasured nana and great-nana of Renee and Regan, Blakely, Vallie Rae, Sian, Zar, Summer, Reuben and Greer, Billy and Brydie, Levi and Macey, Zep, Jason, Damien, Kaedyn, Tyler, and Brooklyn, loved daughter of the late Roy and Gwen Washer, loved sister of the late Graeme, and Dennis, loved sister-in-law of Antonio (deceased) and Janice Pizzato, and Rod and the late Madeline Buchanan, and a treasured friend of many.

Loyal, kind and courageous until the final breath.

In lieu of flowers, donations to Raelene's death doula 'Birds of a Feather' Rebecca Gaskell of Hokitika would be appreciated and can be made at the service. A Service to celebrate Raelene's life will be held in the William Sampson Memorial Chapel, Tainui Street, on Monday at 11.00am, followed by cremation on the Coast at the Westland Crematorium.
