Rachel SHANKS Obituary
It is with great sorrow that the family of Rachel Elizabeth Shanks announces her passing on Friday, August 8, 2025, after a long illness. She is survived by her loving husband Cory, their children Michaela, and Bethany, and her brother Stephen. Rachel lived most of her life in Christchurch and worked in hospitality before devoting her life to raising her children, then caring for her ailing parents. She will be remembered for her deeply caring nature, her unfailing positivity, her deep love of cats, and her love for her family. A private service will be held for family and friends. Dearest Rachel.... I can't write the words to explain the effect you had on our family and the way that you embrace Bradley. You'll never be forgotten you'll always be included in conversations and weddings and Christmases these events couldn't happen without a Rachel. Truly amazing the why you handled this journey with such grace and dignity you were so stoic to the end putting everyone else first, You truly will be so missed I don't think I've even known anyone to put everyone else first while they are going through such a devastating illness You are truly an amazing person we will love and miss you sincerely dale and Laura and Bradley Saywood. cousin Howard (ragdoll) says saddest meows to cousin Floyd ( ragdoll)Tessa and tux.
