Tuesday, April 11, 2006. Born June 21, 1911 in Jewell, Iowa the only child of Edward Knudson and Inga J. Tompt. Born, raised, lived and died a Lutheran. Married Sterling W. Reaveley 1941, they lived in the Detroit area and Grand Rapids, MI and widowed in 1961. Married Kenneth F. Carman 1987 and they lived in the Chicago area and widowed in 1991. Graduate of St. Olaf College, Northfield Minnesota and received her Masters in Education and Music at Northwestern University. Director of Music at Royal Oak High School. Directed the choir at St. Olaf Lutheran Church in Detroit for 20 years. Involved with Business and Professional Woman's Association in Detroit, MI and Quota Club in Grand Rapids, MI. Survived by children Pub (Tom) Matzen of Dublin, Ohio, Sandi (Derek) Roe of Petaluma, CA and Sterling W. Reaveley of Dublin, OH; grandchildren Shawna (Lee) Haughawout, Matthew (Sarah) Matzen, Chris Matzen, Melissa (Steve) Secor, Samantha (Tim) Regan and Nicholas Roe; great-grandchildren Croix and Maya Haughawout and Oliver Regan. Friends may call Friday 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. at EGAN-RYAN FUNERAL HOME, 403 E. Broad St., Columbus, OH 43215 where the Funeral Service will be Saturday 2 p.m. Graveside service and burial Monday 2 p.m. at White Chapel Cemetery, Troy, MI.
