MOREHU, Pita Taiako
Te Mapu (Peter):
NZ Army, 1st Battalion, 535979. Peacefully on Friday, August 26, 2016, at Christchurch Hospital. Aged 82 years. Dearly loved husband of the late Mary, loved father and father-in-law of Myles and Terri, Sandy and Api, and Kerri, loved Pop-Pop of Irie and loved by his extended whanau and friends. Messages to the Morehu family, c/- PO Box 10345, Christchurch 8145. A service to celebrate Peter's life will be held in the Ferry Park Chapel, 297 Ferry Road, on Tuesday, August 30, at 9.00am, followed by the burial at Kaikoura Cemetery, Kaikoura, at 3.00pm.

Kia ora whanau.
I just spent a wonderful weekend in Kaikoura. I visited uncle Peters grave. Maero and Kerri you have done your dad proud, and also your mokopuna Irie. I really liked all the flowers and pretty stones. Ka pai.

Kia ora e koro...ko Matai Te Kirikau toku ingoa..Im the great grandson of Te Kirikau..I was blessed to be welcomed by your two wonderful children, Maero and Kerri, at the Chapel in Christchurch.I was made to feel welocme and was humbled when Maero spoke, the ancestors have blessed your boy with your mana and te Reo...You are missed..your extended family in the UK...Kia ora mo to moemoea

Thank you for all those good times at the farm, you taught us to ride on your huge white horse, thank you for the rides on the launch to the hot pools over the lake, thank you for looking after us when mum was really sick,all my brothers and sisters loved you so much and will miss you so much.
