Philip SPICER Obituary

In loving memory of Philip, sickness beneficiary of 23 Lyn Christie Place, Wainoni, Christchurch. Philip passed away in his sleep on the night of June 18, 2025 at the very early age of 59 from coronary artery disease. Sadly, Philip was at very high risk of death due to his poor health. His poor health included risk factors such as; high blood pressure, high cholesterol, diabetes, smoking, chronic alcoholic, druggie, no exercise, poor diet and schizophrenia. Tragically, Philip was unable to manage these health issues and died in his sleep from a suspected heart attack. Very very sad, but absolutely true. Philip will be interred at Shands Road Cemetery, Prebbleton, on Thursday, July 3, 2025 11.30am. Philip was single and had no children. He is survived by his loving sister Deborah Jane Fitton of Richmond, and his doting elder brother Richard James Spicer of Christchurch

I am so sad to read about the passing of a truly unique and beautiful soul. It makes me feel very upset that a member of Phil's family that barely knew him and definitely didn't understand him could place such a cruel notice. Phil was a very talented hairdresser with a tender heart who made people feel seen, valued and beautiful. Phil, may you find the peace and love you so freely gave to others. You will be missed, but remembered with warmth and respect.

That is very sad to read.
Very brave to tell it HOW IT IS.
So many obituaries gloss over the true journey of people they loved.
LOVE being the main positive of the journey.

Phil's passing is very sad.
I have many happy memories of Christmases together and some fantastic holidays in Orere.
As a young man he was funny and quick witted and always able to bring out the funny side of life.
I will always remember him as my cool, eccentric cousin.
RIP Phil x

Very sad for your passing Phil
We shared fun times as apprentice Hairdressers and when I worked for you. I remember your kindness and generosity. You had it all as a young man. You lived life like you ride that old Honda CB 750, fast
and seemingly care free.
My sincere condolences. George

Philip was a very caring funny man. He had a knack of making people laugh and feel good about themselves. In his day he was a very good hairdresser and a good friend to many. Please accept these kind words about Phil. He deserves to be remembered for his good attributes.

Rest in peace Phil. The world will miss someone who grabbed every piece of life´s joys sadnesses and wickedness. For that´s what life is all about. We your "other family" surround your soaring free spirit with love and gladness that you were here. Bless you

Phil dude! Here I am. Bet you lived a life and had some great stories. Some that your family wouldn't believe. We all love a good story especially a wild pirate one. That's what we watch all night on tv. It's hard being in a world where brilliance eccentricity and social unacceptance is tamed down and discarded for regular compliance. BOOOOH! I bet you loved music... I'm gonna go Pink Floyd. Any PF but for this occassion ... Shine on Phil! shine on! Stay crazy you diamond. Travel well in the next dimension.
