21.5.1939 - 4.05.2023
Aged 83 years. Dearly loved father and father-in-law of Andrew and Amanda, the late Jason, Robin and Jane, and Carmen and Owen. Much loved Pop of Joshua, Ethan, and Alanagh; Grandad of Thomas, and Jessica; Portia, and Saraya. Adored Poppa of Luca, Scarlett, Lillie, and Emily. A loved Phil and Poppa of Samuel, and Makayla; David, Alex, James, and Jack. A much loved brother of Dugald (Fiji), Barbara (Australia), Elizabeth (USA) and the late Robert and Malcolm. A much loved and respected uncle to his nieces and nephews. Robin and Andrew would like to give a special thanks to their sister for her loving care of Dad. A special thanks to St John staff for their many visits, and the nursing staff at Christchurch Hospital. A Service to Celebrate Philip's life will be held in our Oaklands Chapel, corner of Halswell Junction and Wigram Roads, Halswell, on Tuesday, May 9, at 10.00am. A private burial to follow. I'm sorry sorry hear about the passing of Mr Garrett. I'll miss our waves as he drives passed and I'm out shifting fences. Enjoy your wings and fly free. Condolences to all of you left earth side. I'll continue to wave to those who are left here and admire your cattle over the fence.

We were sad to hear of the passing of Uncle Phillip. He always made us welcome in his home. We will treasure the memories of his many stories about family and farm life. Condolences to Andrew Carnen and Robin and family. He will be sadly missed. May he rest in peace.

Sorry to hear of Phil's passing. Many memories of the farm days in Heathcote Valley and later visits to Irwell.
