Deepest sympathy to Peter´s family. I only just found out about Peters passing
I´ve only known Peter through his trip with us on our Melbourne Cup tours. We take big numbers each year to the Cup and we all become pretty well connected throughout the racing carnival. Peter will always be remembered for his passion for the thoroughbred and I know he got a real buzz when I told him the tour was going to make a visit to the new Te Akau stables in Cranbourne because of his connection with his star, Pris de Fer who they train. It was a pleasure knowing you for the short time Peter and the reminiscing of great gallopers we shared on the odd occasion and I´m sure that is endorsed by all our wonderful tour groups these past couple of years who you´ve been a real part of.
God bless

I just found out today about Pete´s passing through an old mutual friend, Ludy. We were junior members together at Remuera Golf Club when we were about 16. Although we lost touch over the years I still remember his passion for horses and then rugby in that order. We spent many a late night at his father´s Meadowbank home watching the ABs play the Boks. There was a group of about 6 of us young lads. Great days and a very genuine human being. Very sad but wonderful memories. My sincere condolences to Peter´s family. Ash Bellam.

Dear Jacquie - deepest sympathies to you and the family for the loss of your brother, Peter. I worked with Peter at Shalfoon Dental many moons ago, and many of us have kept in touch over the 25+ years. I have very fond memories of Peter, he was quite the character, especially after a few beers! I loved that he went all out at our parties, truly letting his hair down (excuse the pun). Attaching a great photo of one of the many parties we had where he and I rented costumes for a 70s party... I can remember him coming out the dressing room in the pink outfit and I was literally on the floor laughing saying "yes, that's the one"!!! And then of course his surprise 40th birthday in the Shalfoon showroom where we hung photos of him as a boy and decorated his car. Many happy memories. Sorry I can't be with you on Sunday but I will have a wee tipple for my old mate.

Pete, it has been an absolute privilege to have known you over the past six years. Prise de Fer was my first racehorse syndicate and has brought me together with so many wonderful people and experiences. Your passion for racing had an infectious quality that drew us in to many adventures and racetracks around the country. Your enthusiasm and the pleasure you got from the horses is undeniable. It is only fitting that Sabre retires this weekend. Go well my friend. Thanks for the memories and friendship.

To Peters family,
I was deeply saddened to hear about the passing of Peter Wagner. Please accept my heartfelt condolences during this difficult time.

Peter's presence in the dental industry for the nearly four decades I have known him was not just professional but also deeply personal to many of us who had the privilege of knowing him. His dedication, expertise, and warmth made him a beloved figure among colleagues and friends alike.

I will always cherish the memories of our time together in the dental community, and I am grateful for the wisdom and camaraderie Peter shared with me over the years. His legacy will undoubtedly endure in the lives he touched and the contributions he made to our profession.

Please know that my thoughts are with all Peter's loved ones as you all navigate through this loss. May you find comfort in the cherished memories you shared and the enduring impact he had on so many.

With deepest sympathy,

I'm so sad to say that less than 2 months after saying goodbye to Dad (Kenny Walker), that one of my Dad's best friends Peter Wagner has passed away also. He showed me such kindness and support by holding the wake for Dad at the Bowling Club and speaking at Dad's funeral. Now they are both together playing bowls up there, at the big bowling green in the sky. This is heart breaking, and I hope he knew how grateful I was for his help this year. My love to all Peter's family and friends. RIP Peter.

We met Pete through common ownership of a horse, Prise de Fer. We travelled to watch him race a lot of times, Hastings, Hamilton, Wellington etc on multiple occasions. Pete was always part of our team and leading the way, always welcoming to everyone and introduced us to owners in other horses. We had great fun together but sadly only for the duration of Prise de Fers career, which poignantly finishes tomorrow with his final race in the Auckland Cup. Hope the old boy can do ii for Pete. We will miss the banter in the car, airport lounges as we travelled, thanks for memories Pete, we were lucky to have known you and you will be missed, From Tina and David
