Peter STENT Obituary

Hello Linda,
Not sure what I am going to say but after 50 or more years I feel I should say something. I knew Peter a few years before he met you. I was 18 he was 21, the very first time was at a Navy dance, I was 15 and he was 18, (way to young) we parted and came together a few years later. We were going to get married but I was just to young , we broke up and he was very sad. Now all these years later yesterday I had this feeling ( I get them from time to time) I wanted to see where Peter was in his life and to my surprise I find he had passed away two months ago. I am so sad for you and your family and I do send my condolences. At the same time I also feel great sadness for myself, a memory of two very young people long ago who knew each other and shared young love. Peter was funny, sweet and kind, he was handsome and he was a sailor in the New Zealand navy, as was my father. I used to laugh at the way he would save his rum tots and sell the bottles to others when they were full. I will never forget him and his Mini Cooper S, I could hear him long before he arrived at my home, I will shed tears for him as you have. My intention is not to upset you only to let you know I also will mourn him. I now live in Australia with my husband and three sons but I will remember always my first love, my handsome young sailor.
