Being a young lad living at the bottom of Christie Street, Peter was the first person to really raise my awareness of the local fire brigade, each time the siren would sound this man would come racing down the hill and off to help his community, I thought that looked pretty cool and perhaps I could drive that fast, 30 odd years later I remember Peter as friend, colleague, and really good guy. He will be sorely missed, my heart goes out to family and friends.
