Peter SEARLE Obituary

Passed away suddenly at home, on Tuesday, October 24, 2023, aged 78 years. Dearly loved husband of Mary, loved Dad of Matt, Lynleigh, Tony, and Angela, grandfather of Te Hiira, Jack, Afton, Lewis, Jack, Sean, Fred, and George, and great-grandfather of Liam, and Tia. Messages may be addressed to The Family of the late Peter Searle, c/- PO Box 39001, Christchurch 8545. At the request of the family, no flowers please. A Celebration of Pete's life will be held in the Canterbury Crematorium Chapel, 455 Linwood Avenue, Bromley, on November 4, at 2.30pm.

I was so sad to hear of the loss of Pete, a truly remarkable man, who no doubt left a great impression on all who spent time with him. I have known him for a number of years, and I always remember when Mary and him started dating, and his eyes just lit up when he saw her as they walked through life together. I know he was a wonderful partner and husband, so truly kind to our family and my sons, and a truly decent and honorable man My heart goes out to Mary, a truly remarkable woman herself, who got to share a wonderful adventure of a life with Pete. He was a great addition to the family, and we all feel the loss. It was an honour to have him in the family, and as part of my two sons Jack and Lewis, and their children Liam and Tia.
Much love to Angela and Tony and all of Pete's family. We are all better people for knowing him. Much love Andrea

18.3.45 - 24.10.2023 Dearly loved youngest son of Jack and Thelma (dec), and treasured brother and brother-in-law of Murray and Jan. Loved and respected uncle to his nieces, and extended families. Loyal mate to all his friends he made through work, rugby league and karate. Special thanks to St John, Kaiapoi Fire Brigade and Police. Resting in peace my brother. You will always be sorely missed.
