QSO, JP (retired)
Of Westport. Passed peacefully on Sunday, June 9, 2024, in Christchurch, aged 95 years, loved husband of the late Joan, loved father and father-in-law of Peter and Valmai, Catheryne, Wendy and John (dec), Lynda and Chris, and Tim and Nalinee, and loved grandfather of Sasha and Michael; Madeleine, Gabriel, and Georgiana; Michael and Alistair; and Jeffrey and Ben, loved brother of Leon and Gary (both deceased). A distinguished community leader. Many thanks to the staff at Elms Court Village in Christchurch, and his GP, for their compassionate care of Peter during his time there. Thanks also to the wider care team who supported Peter in Westport. A service celebrating Peter's life will be held at St John's Church, Westport on Monday, June 17 at 1.30pm, followed by a private interment.
