Unexpectedly at home, on Friday, August 12, 2016. Dearly loved Dad of Sam, love of his life Jan Jackson, brother and brother-in-law of Wendy and Tony Macrae, Julie and John Aitchison, and a much loved uncle and friend. Messages may be addressed to The Family of the late Peter Read,
c/- PO Box 39001, Christchurch 8545. If you would like to participate in Peter's last parade lap, please meet at Ruapuna Park, on Friday, August 19, at 3.00pm. A Service to Celebrate Peter's life will be held in our Westpark Chapel, 467 Wairakei Road, Burnside, on Friday, August 19, at 5.30pm.

We were shocked when we received the news. As said previously his voice was instantly recognisable, and he had a marvellous sense of humour. Our sympathy to Peter's family and also to Jan.

Peter got me into serious Italian cars and my bank balance has never forgiven him! It has also given many great times with those of the same persuasion and I'm indebted to Peter in a better way. I and all the Latins members will miss him greatly. RIP Peter
