Peter MIDGLEY Obituary

Passed away peacefully at Casmere View Care Centre, surrounded by his family, on Saturday, May 3, 2025, aged 96 years. Much loved husband of the late Juin and the late Valmai. Cherished father and father-in-law of Peter and Gail, Wendy and Jeff Mosley, and the late Linda. Peter was a devoted and loving grandfather to Brendon and Mandy, Gemma, Melissa, Sarah and Thomas, and Rebecca. He was also a proud great-grandfather to Alecia, Emily, Charlotte and James. Peter's legacy as a dedicated family man will live on through the generations, and his love and care will be deeply missed by his children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and extended families. Our thoughts are with all extended family members and many friends at this time. Messages to the family of Peter Midgley, c/- PO Box 22292, Christchurch 8140. In accordance with Peter's wishes, a private cremation has taken place. A Memorial Service to celebrate Peter's life will be held at Club Redcliffs, 9 James Street, Redcliffs, on Thursday, May 8, 2025 at 2.00pm. Please accept my sincere condolences. I was away and couldn´t attend Pete´s farewell.
He was such a lovely man and a true gentleman and a very good friend to me.
He will be sadly missed but not forgotten.

We were very saddened to hear of Peters passing. Our condolences to Peter, Gail and Wendy along with all the grandchildren. Peter came into our lives when he married Valmai and treated our son Nathan as a grandchild . He was a true gentleman, would do anything to help you out, a true pleasure to have known. He had a never say die attitude, his house and gardens always immaculately kept and an ability to fix anything. He will be sorely missed by many. Apologies from myself Helen, Nathan and Brittany for not being able to attend the Memorial Service.

What a wonderful man. I started my working life with Peter at the old council building in the Main north road then on to Cranford st. Peter gave me a great start in working life. One of the good blokes.
