Peter McCARTHY Obituary
Passed away peacefully with family by his side at Anthony Wilding Retirement Village on Friday, August 22, 2025, aged 89 years. Beloved husband of the late Patricia. Devoted and dear friend of Claire. Dearly loved father and father-in-law of Paul and Therese, Gemma, Marita and Laurence, and Daniel. Much loved Poppa to his grandchildren and great grandchildren. Will be sadly missed by the extended family and friends.

Our heartfelt thanks to the staff at Anthony Wilding for all their loving care and compassion of Peter. In lieu of flowers donations to St Vincent de Paul would be appreciated and may be made online via their website. Messages to the Family of Peter McCarthy, c/- PO Box 26051, North Avon, Christchurch 8148. A Requiem Mass for Peter will be celebrated at St Peter and Paul Catholic Church, 56 Nicholls Road, Halswell, on Friday, August 29, 2025, at 11.30am, followed by burial in Lincoln Cemetery. Rosary at the Church tomorrow (Thursday), at 6.30pm.

Remembering happy family times spent on the farm with my cousins Peter and Brian as I was growing up. Sadly I will not be able to represent my side of the family at the funeral on Friday. But Perrine and I send our sincere sympathy to all of Peter's family and friends. Cousin Graham Freear.
