Lin and whanau our deepest condolences on your loss. I first met Peter when he became part of the Department of Labour Maori Perspective unit. Parekura Horomia was in charge having Peter travelling around the country finding people who had Maori ancestry and trying to get Employment officers culturally aware. The last time I saw Peter was at the eye screening clinic Peter had his eyes done I asked how he was going to cope driving home he pulled out his shades and said this will help.

Aue, I'm so saddened to have learnt of your passing Pete and no words can ever describe the aroha and manaakitanga you so free willingly gave to the whanau and I when we lost our baby boy 10 years ago. You will always have a special place in my heart Pete and we will always continue to share stories to your namesake Mason James about his Koro Pete. Kia kaha Lin xxx

I will always remember our great times together PJ. IF Doug Kitto were alive he would say the same. We cut our teeth on the NSTU intakes and School of Sigs as junior instructors in Waiouru and District. Never a dull moment. Sorry to also hear our other close mate Bill O'Brien died this week also. We all teamed up so well. I am pleased that we were able to catch up at the Papanui RSA in recent times. Condolences to family.

PJ I remember the 12th Day of January 1960 when I left Rotorua on a NZ Railways bus to join Russell Class, RF Cadets. On the way calling into Whakatane to pick up Yourself, Peter Sigley, John Moller and then onto Tauranga to pick up Brian Stokes and finally onto Frankton where we caught the Express to our final destination of Waiouru. There has always been a close bond between us all since that day until your passing. I have always valued your friendship My Friend and your passing came as a great shock. My condolences to you Lyn and your family. Blessings Derrick.

Condolences to the whanau from all who served at Dieppe Barracks (Singapore). PJ was a well loved & much respected member of our unit. A great mentor to those professional soldiers who followed in his footsteps. As well a V5, PJ served 74/76 in Signals Platoon and again 82/84 as the CQMS of Bravo Company.
Not too bad on the rugby paddock also. Sorely missed but his memory liveth forever. Lest we Forget.

Kia ora "PJ" I am so sorry and distressed to hear of your passing; this planet is worse off without you. You did so much for so many both as a First Class Soldier for your country and for your community and for our people as a First Class Citizen and First Class Kaumaatua of the iwi. Your family will sorely miss you but also many of us who knew and respected you will never forget. "Go in Peace Bro you certainly deserve a rest" John H.
