Valerie and family sorry to read of the passing of Peter, a great mentor and wisdom in scouting. Scouting has lost a tall Totara who will be missed by many of the scouting fraternity. Our thoughts are with you. John and Carolina.

Peter was one of my Scouting hero's - he was one of Christchurch's and Canterbury's and New Zealand's Scouting greats. From first meeting him in the Gang Shows and then through Scout Leader Training Courses and then being part of the Canterbury Scouts Area Management Team - Peter was always there - leading, advising, encouraging and supporting all who interacted with him. Thank you Peter

Our memories of Peter and Scouting are too numerous to list... Gang Show, training courses, Blue Skies museum to name a few. Peter's warm fuzzies were legendary. There are not many like him left. Peter, Barrie will be waiting for you, ready for you to lead each other astray once again. Sorry we won't be with you at Peter's service. Our thoughts are with all. David and Claire Stevens (nee Goodhew)

To Valerie and family,
I fondly remember all the happy times with Peter at the many scout training courses we attended.
I also have never forgotten the support you both gave me in my time of personal need.
I sadly will decline the invitation to attend the service to leave room for others during these covid times.
My thoughts are with you all.
Rod
