Dear Anne
I was very saddened to hear of Paul´s passing. Although I had not seen him in recent years, I will always remember his friendly manner and his support for my international development activities. And especially his strength and empathy, in the aftermath of the tragic plane crash. He was a remarkable leader and a genuinely caring person. Please accept my heartfelt condolences to you and your family during this challenging time.
Kind regards.

I had the privilege of working as Paul´s Executive Assistant in 2004/05, not long after the 2003 air crash. He was a truly inspirational leader and a genuinely lovely man, whose compassion and humanity shone through at a very difficult time. We were all proud to work alongside him. My heartfelt thoughts are with Anne, who has lost her beloved soulmate. Paul will be remembered with great respect and affection.

Paul was our leader at Crop & Food Research when we needed one most after the 2003 air crash. Paul's compassion and dedication to his staff over this time was exemplary, a lesson in leadership. Never forgotten by us all. RIP Paul.
