Its been more than four years mate. My life has never been the same since the 3rd Feb. I often dont know which way is up and life is mostly a conveyor belt of existence. I miss you very much indeed Paul. I know the nightmare will come true - one way or the other. Ill be 65 in 20+ years or so, and when I get there, Ill remember either, what I was really like, those years ago we hung out like brothers. Or, I would have met a person with whom Ill have the same riddle and Ill always say to them, you should have met my mate Paul. I know it will be the former. And in fact, I prefer that it will - I could deal with that more easily. So its four years, and Im not ready to say goodbye yet.

So sad and unfair. Paul: funny, caring, energised " come on man!!' and talented. So many great memories with Paul and Giles, gigs, jamming, chilling out and even at work. As well as nomex he and Giles wrote powerful amazing sounding music back in the 80s... hear the clouds move.... thanks Paul and much love to the family.

Lovely, smiling young man when I met him - back when he was a teenager. Always laughing and joking and always so kind and thoughtful. Will always remember him dressed in black and never staying still for long. Proud to have known you Paul. Love and happiness wherever you are. Carol

My beloved son who lived life to the full. A tireless, inspirational free spirit. Much loved, never to be forgotten. We miss you so much. Mam

Paul...A son to be very proud of and so loved by all your family. As a close friend of your mum I was able to follow your life as you grew up. Brenda gave you the freedom to soar and to fly and in doing so you achieved great things. You will always be remembered and cherished in our hearts.

Always enjoyed hanging out with Paul Kidd/Nomex at Dead By Dawn in Brixton back in the day - and loved his sets! We had fun times elsewhere too - with one particularly memorable event at Oval Theatre when we were both appearing and Paul just cracked me up... Last saw Paul in London in 2010 when he was visting after his relocation of NZ. When I think of him I think of a lot of good times...

Paul, while we rode around New Zealand together I learnt a thing or two from you. Not only did you love vintage nik naks, clothing and Kathmandu (everything in black), I learnt you were a happy, enthusiastic, generous guy. A person which now days is very hard to come by. You were an amazing tour guide, friend and a great man, I aspired to be just like you one day. You made a lot of people happy, and for that you should be proud. We will all miss you dearly Paul.

Paul out doing what he loved

I'm so sad you've left this world early - I've so many fond memories of you Paul - I loved your zest for life, your energy, your enthusiasm and 'go'. Your music tastes influenced mine and I still recall your old fridge full of LP's! I've a head full of wonderful childhood memories of school holidays spent with you and Giles. Rest in peace my wonderful cousin - you'll be missed forever. xxxx

Paul and I walked the 15km of coast from Kohaihai to the Karamea River mouth one hot day in April. This photo is from that perfect afternoon.
