Patricia MURPHY Obituary

On December 13, 2025, at Nazareth House Christchurch, supported by staff, her family and Mercy community. Aged 87 years. Dearly loved member of Nga Whaea Atawhai o Aotearoa, Sisters of Mercy New Zealand, in the 68th year of her religious profession. Dearly loved daughter of the late Cecil and Teresa Murphy, loved sister and sister-in-law of Therese Murphy (Waimate), Philip (dec) and Kathy (Dunedin), Margaret (Waimate) and Joe Bray (dec), Marie and John Hartigan (Westport), Bernard (dec) and Jill (Rangiora); and loved aunt of all her nieces and nephews and their children. Special thanks to the Nazareth House staff and Mercy carers. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, December 18, at 9.30am, at St Anne's Church, 739 Ferry Road, Woolston, Christchurch, followed by burial at Lyttelton Cemetery. Vigil prayers on Wednesday, December 17 at 7.00pm at Te Manawa Atawhai Catherine McAuley Centre, 21 Peer Street, Upper Riccarton.
