Dear Jenny, Hamish and family
We are so sorry for your loss of such a lovely young man. I didn't know him very well but was struck by how friendly, cheerful and fun-loving he was. I still have very fond memories of him organising a group of musicians to play at the Farmers Market a couple of years ago, and how he rounded up all the other would-be buskers that day and invited them in to play together with them. All our very best wishes to you all. ❤

This is so unexpected he was at my house few days before. I feel sick to the stomach hearing a friend and a young boy passing away. I've known Ollie since my years at St Andrews College and I counted Ollie as one of my mates. I am sorry to hear about his passing and send my prayers to his family. Stay Strong

I only talked to Ollie a few days before it happened, at one of the completely random encounters we tend to have, we were talking about how he was planning a massive sailing trip, and how he had just finished moving in to his new flat. This one happened to be at the Domino's near UC, but we had bumped into one another at UC, and even up at Mt Hutt, and he would seemingly materialize out of thin air for the sole purpose of a good yarn and a run or two down the hill where he always out ran me.
But before all this I met him in my first year at StAC, in year 11, with a great bunch of other guys and girls too. We would generally chat in Mo's room, or be in the process failing Mr Baron's physics class side by side and having a lot of fun whilst we did it. He was always a good laugh, an awesome Sax player, a gun skier, always friendly, and always planning if not already doing something cool and out there. For the 4-5 years I knew him, I never saw a bad bone in his body, just smiles and good times. He, like most, did not deserve what he got in the end, he was nice, caring, happy, and an all round good person with good intentions, but found himself getting dealt the worst hand by life.
With that being said, this situation reminds me that life is fragile, and it can vanish as suddenly as it can appear, much like Ollie did most times, and that we need to appreciate each other for the time that we have together, because people can, and do, come and go at any time. I hope that everyone has each others back in this tough situation, and I'm happy to catch up for a chat. And it was great seeing everyone today, given the unfortunate circumstances, and it helped me a lot and I'm sure that's how most feel.
Maybe I will take you fishing when I see you next, until then, rest easy, and keep thinking big.
See you later Ollie.

Deepest sympathy, sorrow and love Hamish, Jenny and families, from your Wellington cousins Gill, Rob and Auntie Val and boys. Our lads had such a short time together when they were little, but the memory will be treasured forever x.

So sorry to hear of Ollie's passing. I did not know him well, but he seemed like a nice guy and had a good attitude and fun sense of humour. Wishing love and healing to his family.
