Ollie was a man with a kind heart, wry humour and genuine empathy and understanding. His consistent, relaxed no-nonsense leadership, highlighted by an instinctive trait of common-sense made him a great bloke to work for, what a sad loss.
Otis Lifts never gained any promotion from Ollie as his impressive record for ascending the stairs at the Christchurch Central Police Station will stand forever unlike the staircase.
My deepest sympathy to Gregory, Sonia and partners and Ollie's many descendants who have a proud legacy to emulate. Hi Ho Silver and Godspeed Ollie.

My sincere condolences to Ollie´s family on his passing. I have great memories of racing him around the tank farm in Lyttelton trying improve our running performances, (I couldn´t beat him). I worked with Ollie in the mid 70´s. He was an awesome supervisor. Rip Ollie.
