Sending deepest condolences at this time. John was a long time friend and an amazing support for Gordon Murphy in his time at Burwood in Christchurch in 2023, for which we are enternally grateful - for his care, humour, directness and companionship for Dad. I enjoyed our catch up calls until quite recently, only last month. thoughts are with you at this time and we, the Murphy family remember John very fondly, Jackie Leat, Grant Murphy and Clark Murphy

John always had a smile and a cheeky comment ready to go every time I saw him. Chris has told me so many stories about working for and with John over the years, I know he has helped shape the person Chris has become. He had a big heart and will leave a big hole in many others.

A great boss but an even better friend. I will always remember the kindness shown from the simple cheeky comment 'your no good to me without a car'. And with that, Jason and I were set to work putting a new gearbox in my Cortina so I could travel to and from work. I have so many stories and fond memories, thank you John.
