It's years since we saw Jerry and the, Nelson, Leary familes.
My eldest brother (Dick) told me this morning that when the Leary family lived at Pleasant Valley, next door to us, they went to All Hallows, the Geraldine Catholic school. The Priest took them fishing. He got the Kids to tickle the fish, while he sat on the bank watching for the rangers. They gave any fish caught to families. A good Christian thing to do with such big families.
Jerry must have enjoyed fishing, as I see he kept it up.
Our deepest sympathy goes to all the Leary family.
From Uncle Dick and Uncle Jack Murphy's remaining family members, Timaru
