Nolan TYSON Obituary

2.10.1925 – 6.9.2025

Noel passed away peacefully at Christchurch Hospital, after a brief illness, aged 99 years - just a few weeks short of his 100th birthday. Dearly loved husband of the late Dorothy Naomi (nee Ward) who left us on 4.12.2024, aged 95 years, after 73 years of marriage. Much loved father of Lynley and the late Kel Aldridge; Geoff and Leonie; Phillippa and John Ashbey; Chris and Lyn; Nigel and Julie. Dearly loved Grandad of Kirsten and Robbie; Carron; Delia; Jeremy and Katie; Michael and Kate; Alice and James; Lloyd and Alexia; Zoe and James; Ellie; Matthew and Andrea; Jessica; and loved Great-Grandad of 10. Loved son of Joseph Rowland and Olive Tyson (nee Reesby). Loved brother of Fred; Colin and Betty; Emma and Cecil Horrell; Hope and Trevor Opie; David and Mary; Lorna and Don Stewart (all deceased) and brother-in-law to the Ward Family. Much loved Uncle to his nieces, nephews and their families. Special thanks to all Anthony Wilding staff who have cared for, and laughed with Noel, over the past five years; and to the Christchurch Hospital teams who have cared for him the past two weeks. A Celebration of Nolan's life will be held at Academy Funeral Services Chapel, 65 Main South Road, Upper Riccarton, on Saturday, October 4, at 1.30pm, followed later by a private interment.
