Noel MACDONALD Obituary

On September 13, 2024, aged 87 years.

"A gentle, yet determined soul"

Much beloved wife of Tom (d. 2017), cherished mother of Michael (wife Sandy Lloyd, Canada) and John (partner Fiona Lynch); loved grandmother of John's children Charlie and Florence and of Michael's children Torin, Ramsey and Tess; great-grandmother to Ronan and Karsten (Torin); little sister of Pauline Wood (Tauranga) and Ian Wemyss (d. 2023, Nelson); dear friend to many; kind and engaging to all; a partner with Tom in serving their communities. For more than 15 years, Noel lived in good spirit and with grace adapting to the progressive ravage of Alzheimer's. While it stole many things, Noel wouldn't relinquish her happy disposition, her loving smile and her gentle nature. Her care was provided first by Tom, and subsequently by the deeply compassionate and amazingly dedicated staff at Anthony Wilding Retirement Village. Noel was small, yet mighty; and she will always be much loved. Noel died peacefully with Michael, John and Florence by her side.

A service to celebrate Noel's life will be held at AvonPark Chapel, corner Kerrs and Pages Roads, Linwood, on Thursday, September 19, at 2.30pm. Private cremation thereafter.
