I remember Nick at FRI in Rotorua, when nis family arrived about 1951, also his brother Nick. My father was a founding forester there in 1947, colleague of Nicks father. We played together as kids, great community. Greetings to the family. Dr Tony Cutten.

Very saddened to learn of Nick´s passing. He was our family doctor for many years & brought our 3 children into this world. We had some interesting discussions during consultations about hazel nuts , white baiting , ride on lawnmowers & many other topics. We loved his straightforward attitude. We appreciate the valuable contribution Nick has made in medicine. We wish to convey our sincere condolences to the Terpstra family. A good family man - gone too soon

To The Terpstra Family It is with great sadness we acknowledge the passing of Nick who was our family G.P. for over 30 years. Recently I celebrated my 99th birthday, and in remembering all the wonderful folk who helped me arrive at this target I thought of Nick who had no small part to play. I guess I have always regarded him as a friend who I knew as a House Surgeon at Kew and later as our family G.P. During a consultation I never felt pressured to move on even though I am aware that I was a pest at times. i.e. 'self diagnosis'. We laughed a lot along with putting the world to rights. I'm afraid that we haven't succeeded Nick but hope springs eternal!! Farewell Nick. Thank you for being the kind, thoughtful man that you were and what you gave to the Southland Community. You are not forgotten, nor will you ever be, as long as life and memories last we will remember thee.

I am very sad to hear the passing of Nick, he was the first doctor I met when I came to New Zealand and he was a very caring and passionate person who always took the time to listen to you. I will never forget the words he said to me when I told him that I was pregnant. Nick was badly missed when he left Invercargill and I like to express my sincere condolences to Liz and his family.

Wanted to send our deepest condolences to you all. So sad to read of Nicks death he was our family doctor for over 40 years. Kind Caring Loyal the list goes on. We had our share of loss and it was not unknown to get a phone call in the evenings just to see how we were doing. This just shows how caring he was. He will be missed by many. Take Care xx
