I can´t believe she´s gone! I think I spoke to her just prior to her flying away! She was her usual positive self! I met Natalie when I was around 3 years old. We lived opposite then and I believe I popped in and introduced myself! I was `dear one´ and we went on to have some adventures! Having gone to school with the twins although they were younger I was always in awe of her. My mother enjoyed Nat´s company and so for many years she was part of our family. I felt proud to know her after learning about how she taught the deaf to speak! And then she visited Rewi Allie! After living in Auckland for some time we were happy that she came to stay with us! We also got to know Colin or Blackie her kind brother!
I´m am so sad she´s gone. She was the last person to remember me as a child. We kept in touch with phone calls, visits and emails! We will miss her deeply and send our love and thoughts to her family!
Much love Georgie and Kim Eschweiler Motueka

Julian this bought treats to my eyes... such a beautiful, heartfelt, real, flowing, eloquent story of your Mum. It took me right to her old garden and the tussy mussies (which weirdly I've just been to a garden club meeting this morning where the presenter was making them). I learnt about them from your Mum. And " dear hearts and darlings". I see her in the old kitchen. I'm so pleased, tough as it is, that you and dear Cleo could represent your family so courageously and lovingly and be there when Jason, Felix, Lionel, Claire, Remy and Sage were caught miles away. Robyn and girls.

Sending the family our sincere condolences. I didn't know Aunty Nat that well but remember her home in Opawa. I remember when Grandad Black lived there too. During Aunty Natalie life she has definitely left a foot print from her travels education and interests. Rest well Aunty you deserve it
With Love your niece Glenda Black
