With sadness at the news of Murray´s passing, members of the Heavy Vehicle Engineers (HVE) Group offer their condolences to Murray's family, close friends and former colleagues with whom he had formed close relationships over the years.
We wish to acknowledge the enormous contribution Murray and his business, Meyer Consulting, made to the transport industry. He was a key part of the certification of heavy vehicles from the very infancy of the industry, and there are many businesses in the South Island that owe their success in some part to Murray´s involvement, work ethic and professionalism.
Murray provided a pathway into the industry for a number of engineers by sharing his extensive knowledge and through employment and training.
He will be remembered for his sometimes forthright, yet always well considered contributions to HVE conference discussions, his sense of humour, and many enjoyable chats.

It was with great sadness we learnt of the passing of Murray. We remember earlier times when we were all younger with our children playing together and visits to Hanmer. Our heartfelt condolences to Marie and the family on their loss.
