In his prime, Murray was a skilled and talented educator. In his field, he quietly achieved excellence. Even towards the end of his teaching career, he could still show many of his peers some of the possibilities and alternatives that might be explored in pedagogy. There will be many previous students from throughout his extensive service who have valued his personal help . Teachers with open minds and the generosity of spirit to see beyond a narrow few years will sincerely appreciate the sum of his unique contributions across the entirety of a broad and varied community service.

Of course, he will be missed. As his Principal from some decades past, I'd suggest that today Murray would proclaim, "You can't beat Old School!"

Condolences to family and friends.
